Kindergarten
The students will continue to learn the Spanish alphabet and sounds. Greetings and basic tools of conversation will continue to be learned. The students will learn the days of the week and the parts of the body. The Sign of the Cross and the first few lines of the Our Father will be introduced.
Grade 1
The students will continue to learn simple classroom commands, greetings, and how to introduce themselves with Spanish names. The students will begin to learn the numbers 11-50, the weather, and the seasons. Parts of the body and face and family will be introduced.
Prayer: Sign of the Cross and the Our Father.
Grade 2
The students will continue to learn the days of the week and the months of the year and be able to express part of the day’s date in Spanish. They will learn the appropriate way to ask for something “Puedes darme…por favor,” and saying thank you and your welcome. Weather will continue to be reinforced and as a class we will make a weather wheel.
Prayer: The Sign of the Cross, the Our Father, and the Hail Mary.
Grade 3
The students will begin to learn parts of the town and expressing “I go.” They will be encouraged to use the target language as much as possible. Items and procedures at a restaurant will be introduced. They will begin to learn verbs such as to eat, to drink, to play, to walk, to read, and to write

Grade 4
The students will continue working with the new textbook, Exploring Spanish. They will learn the parts of the house (la casa), names for family members, and occupations. They will begin to conjugate basic regular verbs (ex: to have, to be, to make, to go).
Prayer: The Sign of the Cross, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be.
