Religion The Chapters 8 10 Tests will be passed back Tuesday or Wednesday. We will continue our study of Moses and the Ten Commandments this week.
Math We will have a quiz covering the lessons from Chapter 5 on Wednesday to prepare for a Chapter 5 Test next week.
Reading and Language Arts We will be using our reading workbook to complete pages on particular skills to improve our reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar usage in speaking and writing.
Spelling We did not have a Test last week; however, this week the word list (p. 285-Frequently Misspelled Words) will be combined with last weeks word list (p. 285 Tanyas Family Reunion, for the Test on Friday. Thats a total of 45 words not all of those words will be included on the test, but with daily practice in the classroom and at home, students will perform well.
English Students will be working on writing letters to our soldiers during the next week for homework. This is a school-wide project, but will count as a writing grade for our class. We will work on the letters in school, but some of the editing, proofreading, and rewriting may have to be completed at home. Students will type the letters during their Computer Lab time on Wednesday, February 15th.
Social Studies We will be preparing to take the Chapter 4 Test on Thursday.
Science We will review Chapter 4; Lesson 1 with a quiz on Tuesday and learn much about the moon in Lesson 2 with a quiz on Friday. Remember the due date for the Solar System project is Monday, the 27th.
FYI:
Read all about the Kinder Post Office on the Friday Folder. All are encouraged to participate in this very worthwhile cause. Please follow the directions and bring your valentines, treats, notes, etc. along with your $$$ (It is 10 cents for each card) by Thursday, February 9th. The kinders will deliver the cards to the classrooms on Monday and we will have a small St. Valentines Day celebration next Tuesday afternoon in our classroom.

Spelling - write 20 words neatly on loose leaf paper - see p. 285; under "American Stories"
Reading Workbook - do pp. 129, 130
Social Studies - do pp. 120 -121; Vocabulary (1-4); People in Terms (1-6) and "Facts and Main Ideas (1-4).
All answers must be written out/notebook.
