Can you believe it is here? Our last week together promises to be a great one. Take note of the special events for this week.
May 26- Memorial Day Holiday
May 28- Skating Outing at Smithfield Skate. We will have a regular academic rotation in the morning, eat lunch at NSA and then travel to the skating rink in Smithfield at 11:30. Don't forget to bring socks and your skates if you don't want to use the skates at the rink.
May 29- Super USA Day- A day filled with state activities with a tasting of the foods brought in by all the fifth graders. Don't forget to wear red, white and blue and bring in your state dish to share for lunch.
May 30- Last Day! Awards Assembly at 10:30. Fifth grade picnic following awards. Our picnic will follow the awards on the lawn in front of the Upper School Library and beside the Upper School parking area. Parents who plan to attend may want to bring a chair. Students may want to bring a beach towel. Students may leave school with parent(s) after the picnic, after signing out with me.
Reading Notes
We have concluded, The Great Turkey Walk. Our web quest project presentations day will be on Tuesday. Don't forget to bring in any games ( children's role) or food ( supply agents or anyone!) you wanted to share.
Graded tests and projects will be returned on Tuesday.
English News
Our grammar focus for the remainder of the year will be on mis-used words. We have finished our final piece of writing, a narrative essay focusing on word choice using the anchor text, "Up North At the Cabin". It is the final page in our writing books (currently at the publishing company!) I'm so proud of the children's writing efforts this year!
Tuesday
1. Review for grammar test on mis-used words scheduled for Wednesday. Note cards created in class may be used on test.
