At the end of the 2007-2008 School Year, I will have finished my 14th year at Beeks and my 30th year in education. I have been an elementary teacher, a middle school Social Studies teacher, a high school counselor and an elementary counselor. I have also worked in Harrisonburg City as the Resource Teacher for ESL Students(English As A Second Language) I have taught in Fairfax County; El Paso, Texas, Botetourt County, Harrisonburg City and Montgomery County. As of the end of this month, I will be retiring. We are not sure who my replacement will be but I feel sure that that person will be an advocate for children and will work well with the teachers as well as being a team player.
This has not been an easy job but it has been fulfilling. I have loved the children and I feel that I took my responsibility very seriously--sometimes too serious. I have
As for my plans for next year, I dreally don't know. I do plan to work part-time at some point. There may be a move also, since we do not have family her and my youngest son lives in Raleigh. I am just playing it by ear.
