Biology:
Students have begun a study of Cells and Their Environment. ( Chapter 4 ) All biology students have recieved the study guide for chapter 4 and should be studying each school night for 20 to 30 minutes. There will be several lab exercises, quizzes, and a test on this material. It is important for students to put in the extra time studying this particularly tough subject matter.
Ecology:
Students have begun a study of ecosystems. They will be conducting a class project requiring the design of a closed, sustainable biosphere. This biosphere will reflect an understanding of how ecosystems affect one another. The objective will be to design a closed system in which the student could live without contact with the outside world.
Botany:
Students are studying the anatomy of plants. Current topics deal with root systems. The assessment for Chapter 5 will be Thursday.
Due Dates for the Research Paper
1. The first 20 notecards are due March 7.
2. A mimimum of 40 notecards total are due April 11.
3. The rough draft is due May 16.
4. The final paper is due May 23.
The research paper will be a minimum of seven pages, lines double-spaced, plain text, font size 12 points, font color black.
