10th Graders Only:
Writing and Grammar SOL Test: 10th Graders will take their SOL test March 4th and 5th. They must pass this test to graduate high school.
March 4th: Answering the Writing Prompt with at least a five paragraph essay response to prompt. Must be able to prove the ability to write. Rubric areas are: Ideas and Explanations, Organization, Style and SPUG (spelling, punctuation, usage and grammar).
March 5th: Multiple choice test to include all writing elements such as: writing for clarity; knowing writing text structure; literary devices; vocabulary; spelling; punctuation specifically the comma, semi-colon and colon; word choice and usage; know purpose of writing; and distinguish between active and passive voice.
Tenth Graders are reviewing for their SOL test through March 5. Beginning March 9 we will read Julius Caesar.
