We are working on chords and the 5th string. We are also working on House of the Rising Sun and getting ready to concentrate on the 6th string.
Music Theatre
We continue to do activities and theatre games that involve presenting, memorizing, understanding and thinking skills. We are currently finishing an alphabet excercise and creating a special drama alphabet to memorize and use in a class spelling bee. We have been creating, reaching a class concensus, memorizing and applying what we memorize.
Choir
We sing daily with the use of tapes, CD's, and the piano.
Symphonic Chorale
We had a very successful trip to New York City. We were very busy seeing the sights including the Empire State Building, 5th Avenue, World Trade Center Site, Chinatown, Mets game at Shea Stadium, etc. etc. The Chorale performed to a high excellent rating while the Choral Ensemble receiving a good rating. They both worked very hard and did their best for the performance. We have finished up tryouts for Chorale for next year and beginning to work on new music for our spring concert and for Baccalaureate and Graduation. Our spring concert is on the calendar for June 2 at 7 pm.
Women's Chorus
The girls had a great trip to Busch Gardens on May 3-4, 2008. They received a high excellent rating and sang beautifully. We had a great time at the park and in Williamsburg and came home tired and happy!! Our spring concert is also set for June 2 at 7 pm.
Announcements and Information:
We are working on our spring musical, Friday Knight Fever. We are practicing most everyday and the performance will be the end of May.
Symphonic Chorale and Women's Chorus tryouts are complete. All current members who are not graduating are encouraged to be in their groups again next year! Here's a list of new members!
