Week of April 27-May 1, 2009 (and beyond)
Social Studies 8
Studies are currently studying World War II, with an emphasis on Pearl Harbor this week.
There is no homework this week.

World History I
Students are wrapping up the last of the SOL units over the next several weeks, as well as, reviewing heavily for the SOL (WH I on Tuesday, May 19)
Students completed a practice online SOL today (Wednesday).
Students will complete a computer lab tomorrow on the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayas.
Friday - review and SHORT quiz on the Renaissance
Beginning on Monday, May 4th - I will be sending home a review sheet covering one SOL each day. Students should study these notes for an "SOL Practice Quiz" the following day.
I encourage all parents to go over and quiz their children each night to help them prepare. History does contain a lot of information and names, but each student is capable of doing really well on the SOL if he/she will take just a little bit of time each day to review until the actual test.
I want to thank all the parents and guardians of all my students (8th and 9th grades) for your support.
It has been a very good year, and I look forward to finishing strong and on a positive note.
