This is a difficult e-mail to write as I try to plan a test date.
I have scheduled the Chapter 9 Test for Wednesday, February 10.
Students in 0 and 4th Period have been to Civics every day we've been in school and they have had more practice with the material.
Students in 2nd and 3rd Period have had most of the practice.
Special concessions and a different test date may be considered for 1st Period.
I have encouraged the students to go to my web site (www.quia.com/pages/mrslineberry.html) to study and review for the Chapter 9 Test. The roles of the President and the executive departments will be matching on the chapter test. Class discussion and practice indicates the students need to study the 7 roles of the President. (Chief Executive, Chief Diplomat. Commander in Chief, Legislative Leader, Judicial Leader, Chief of State, and Party Leader) CE 7.b
With so many interruptions in the school schedule, the review is going to fall primarily on the students. If we are in school on Tuesday, I will send the chapter study guides home for the students to complete.

On Wednesday, January 27th, we finished Chapter 8 The Executive Branch. Monday and Tuesday (2/1, 2/2) we will begin reviewing the first two sections of this chapter. Tentative plans are to give the Chapter 9 Test on Wednesday, February 3rd if school is not delayed or interrupted by the weather. Chapter 9 Study Guides will come home on Tuesday to be finished as homework.
I have been holding study sessions for certain students after school to help them prepare for the chapter tests. A study session will be held on Tuesday, 2/2.
The students are excited about the long week-end. Now they have snow to look forward to. :)
