FIRST GRADE
The sight words for this week are:
each, once, other, under, & which.
We continue to read daily and do word work, building and reading words to learn the sounds and spellings.
We're working on long vowel spellings and words with sh, th, & ch; blends like tr, br, dr, sl and words with nasals like nk, nt, and mp.
The homework this week is from a Homework Menu. The menu will be sent MOnday and you may choose an activity from the menu to do each evening.
KINDERGARTEN
All of the letters and their beginning sounds have been taught. We are working on those as well as sh, th, & ch. These are the sight words that have been taught: a, the, can, at, I, am, like, is, big, in, it, but, look, see, my, we, little, have, do, not, what, one, two, three, red, yellow blue, here, to, up, get, where, & and.
We're also working on hearing sounds in words and writing them as well as concepts of print such as knowing what a letter, word, or sentence is.
