The end is near. We will be going to Belle Heth next Tuesday. Look for permission slips to come home on Monday.

Information for May 12-16.

Math:  We are reviewing all the skills we have learned this year. You can help at home by checking homework and giving your child 5 problems each night.

Reading: You can help at home by having your child read each night for 10-15 minutes. We are doing the Book It Program in my class and your child is working for a free pan pizza each month. They will have school library books or getting books from the public library will help.

Spelling: Words:

Sam: bite  kite  hike  bike  like  slide  hide  ride  wide

Brian: started  smiled  cried  planned  hoped  fried  hopped  starting  crying  planning  hoping  frying  hopping

Zack/Christian: for  corn  door  or  story  short  snore  more  horse  storm  four  orange  floor  store

all other students:  house  flower  town  sound  ground  tower  found  brown  about  hour  power  down  around  count  our  owl

Homework:
Mon. - Thurs.:
Your child has a spelling homework notebook. On the inside of the front cover is a Spelling Menu. They may choose anything from this list to do for homework. I want them to have choices in what they do. If you are not sure what the activity is, just let them do their best guess. The main thing is to have them using the words each night.  If you decide to do it orally then just write me a note on the homework pg. in the notebook and they will get credit for it. I hope this is painless.

Science/Social Studies;
Your child is in the regular class for these subjects so you should watch for study notes and test dates.  Please go over the notes each night. This will really help them prepare for the tests.

Writing:  We are writing fictional stories this week. We are working on using capital letters and periods.  We are also working on spacing and alignment of our letters. We are also working on verbs: present, past, and future.

Be sure your child has a good night's rest and a good breakfast in the mornings.
