Reading-The students will read “Pets”. They will complete the skill book pages that go along with the story. They will also continue reading the chapter book “Spot the Sporty Puppy”.
Language-The students will write a story.
Spelling-The students will study contractions. The spelling test will be on Friday.
Science-The students will learn about plants.
Social Studies-For the rest of the year the students will be learning about the 50 states. This week they will learn about the northeastern states.
Math-The students will continue to learn about measurement.
Religion-This week we will attend the last school mass of the year. The kindergarten students will be singing “Bloom” to the eighth grade students and some special scholarships will be given out. All parents are invited to attend. I can’t believe that it is already time for this special end of the year event. But I guess it is true, time flies when you are having fun!
Please remember that Tuesday is a ˝ day and is NOT a free dress day.
Thursday is Spring Fling Day. Your child needs to wear their P.E. uniform to school. Lunch is being provided by PTA. First grade is being asked to send in desserts for the school. Please send these items in by Thursday morning.
Friday is the St. Anne’s Idol contest. If your child (or family) is planning on participating please send in a note so your child can sign up for a song.
Tuesday, May 13th at 7pm is the school talent show. All of the first grade students will be doing the Irish Jig.
