Homework and Newsletter for the week of May 4, 2008
Congratulations to the following students who will make their First Communion during the month of May: Sean, Liam, Cameron, Ben, Griffin, Riley, and Andrew.
A special thanks to all the parents who helped with the Communion party last Thursday.

A big thank you to all the students for collecting about 500 pairs of sneakers for our community service project. We need parents’ help in transporting the shoes to the Nike store in Sevierville. . Let me know if you can deliver shoes before the first week of June.  Transporting 50 pair at a time would be helpful.

I am very pleased with our progress in understanding the repeated addition concept for learning multiplication. The students will be making flash cards for the attached list of multiplication facts. We will begin a Science unit studying Weather this week. Students will give the daily weather report over the school intercom. We will start with Liam on Wednesday morning. Please see attached information re: weather reports. We will finish our “Economics” unit in Social Studies this week. Please read the information about designing a picture of an invention you would like to create. We have finished all the spelling /phonics patterns in our Spelling book, but we will continue to review old words. We will also continue to work on editing skills.

Homework: Record nightly reading.

Tuesday is a ½ day. The pink memo said it was not a free dress day.
Students will check with me regarding this information.

I have many parents scheduled for conferences this week. If you cannot
