Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a nice holiday. The new year will hopefully bring excitement to everyone. In January we have so much to look forward to - Catholic School's Week, a visit from the mayor, a weather unit, reading chapter books, and so much more!
This week in:
Reading - We will read read the chapter book The Snowman Mystery and begin a new author study. We will be reading Jan Brett books all month.
Language - We will be learning all about adjectives. On Monday we will think of some resolutions for 2009.
Spelling - We will have a review lesson. Our challenge words will be Social Studies words.
Math - We will work on sorting and graphing. We will take a poll to graph information too!
Religion - We will review the Church year
Social Studies - We will learn about our community.
Science - We will learn about polar bears with an edition of our Scholastic News. The food chain will be a topic of interest too. On Thursday we will begin a weather unit.
Pack snack Mon, Tues, and Wed. this week.
P.E. clothes are needed on Tues. and Fri.
