Week of November 17th
This week our story will be Whose Garden Is It by Mary Ann Hoberman.
Amazing Words will be garden, gardener, plant, seed, soil, blossoms.
The children will learn the difference between "Realism" and "Fantasy".
This week we will continue to work on the letter "Ii".
Grammar: The children will identify adjectives.
High Frequency Words: Please continue to flash the following words to your child: a, to, I, am, little, the, have, is, we, my, like, he, for.
Blend Sounds- We will blend the following words:
mitt, pit, pits, sip, sips, spit, Tim, tip, tips.
Please practice blending these words with your child each night. I will assess how well they can blend them on Friday.
Math: We will be working with the number 6. The children will draw their faces on cut out circles and place them on the class bar graph to see how many girls and how many boys are in our class. We will measure items found in our Inchworm Booklets using cube blocks. The children will begin their counting books. We will end this week by having the children practice cutting soft items into "half".
