Parents,
I'd like to say thank you for a great year. I have enjoyed having your children. They have been a lot of fun. Everyone has gotten along so well. In fact, this has been one of the best behaved groups I have had in 22 years of teaching, so I feel blessed to leave "teaching" on such a positive note. This class has been one of the best ever.
I'd like to offer a few suggestions for the summer:
Keep your children reading throughout the summer. You'd be surprised at how much they regress without practice. Also, review those math facts for multiplication. They will start fourth grade with multiplication in math.
When on vacation, discuss time lapsed while traveling and let your kids read the maps or GPS to help find the way.
While you're at the store, let them estimate the cost of several items, practice rounding, let them help you pick out the best deal, and let them find healthy foods for you to eat.
Hopefully, our paths will cross again in the future. I will be at Winfield Elementary as the Assistant Principal, so keep in touch. My email will not change.
