I hope everyone had a good summer. This week, I have been getting my schedule worked out with the classroom teachers and completing evaluations and reevaluations. My schedule is mostly firmed up at this time and speech has officially started as of August 30.
I will be giving out speech folders next week. Your child will have a folder in which to keep his or her speech papers and a monthly calendar that indicates scheduled speech days. Each day the students come to speech, I initial the calendar. Students who bring the folder and get my initials both days get an extra sticker at the end of the week. The stickers are placed on their charts which hang on the wall. When a student has received 20 stickers, he or she gets a treat bag.
I do not require my students to take their speech folders home. They may do so if they choose, but they are not required to obtain a parent signature.
Have a great Labor Day!
