Reading: This week we will read "William's House."
There will be a test on Tuesday November 25.
Please have your child read the story at
least twice a week, even if you spread it
over four days. This will help your child
with word recognition,comprehension,and
fluency. Even if you alternate reading pages
with him/her it will be a BIG help towards
improving reading skills.

and bottoms and sides that curve
out slightly
2. cellar- an underground room or rooms

flashcards.
Dictation Sentences:
1. My sister knows the alphabet.
2. What will the weather be today?
Language: This week we will be studying plural
possessive nouns. A possessive noun shows
ownership. A plural possessive noun is a
plural noun ending with s followed by an(').
If the plural does not end with an s then
you add an 's.
Example:
The boys' team won the championship.
The children's playground got a new slide.
Math: This week we will continue our unit on addition.
Hopefully we will be able to complete the unit
with adding 2/3digit numbers and move on to ten
thousands with and without regrouping by the end
of the week. Then we will work with money and
subtraction with and without regrouping.
Science: We will complete chapter 4 on "How Plants and
Animals Interact." The students will have an
open book test this time so we can finish the
chapter completely before the Thanksgiving
Break. I don't want to have several days off
and have a test hanging over us for that week
we come back. I think it would be much better
to come back to the begining of a new chapter.
Social Studies:Today we completed a study guide for
chapter 6. We will complete some other
activities for this chapter plus review
daily, and have our test on Friday
November 21st. Students should practice
at least 6 questions a night and then
have a total review on Thursday to be
prepared for the test.
This week students will be able to buy ice cream on
Friday. The cost is 50 cents.
We have a snack everyday around 9:00 and students
are allowed to bring a water bottle to school if they
want. This helps to cut down students wanting to leave
the room to get a drink.
