11/17 - Magic Show after school for Savings Card sellers.
11/18 - Zap-A-Snack delivery
11/24 - Folder Indian tribe reports due.
11/25 - PowerPoint Presentations due.

**I will have a substitute for 1/2 a day on Thursday afternoon to attend a mandatory DIBELS training.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CLASSROOM SPELLING BEE WINNER MACKENZIE SLATER, AND RUNNER-UP SYDNIE BUMPUS. THEY WILL COMPETE IN THE SCHOOL WIDE SPELLING BEE  ON DECEMBER 2ND AFTER SCHOOL. GOODLUCK GIRLS!!

Agenda for the week:

THIRD GRADE:

READING - We will be reading the story, "Pushing Up the Sky". The genre is a play. Vocabulary words to know are: antlers, imagined, languages, narrator, overhead, poked. The story test will be on Friday, 11/21.

LANGUAGE - We will be working on Main and Helping Verbs.

SPELLING - Our words this week are spelled with the prefixes un-, re-, mis-, dis-. the core words are: unhappy, recall, disappear, unload, mistake, misspell, dislike, replace, mislead, disagree, rewrite, unroll, unknown, dishonest, react. The challenge words are: unfortunate, discourage, uncomfortable, recycle, mispronounce. The test on these words will be on Friday, 11/21.

MATH - Students will continue in Chapter 3 working on two and three digit addition and subtraction.

SCIENCE -  Students will begin Chapter 3, "Where Plants and Animals Live".

SOCIAL STUDIES - We will continue studying Native Americans since November is National American Indian Heritage Month. Students have a folder report due on 11/24, and a PowerPoint due 11/25.

FOURTH GRADE:

READING - Our story this week is, "Adelina's Whales". The genre is a photo essay. Vocabulary words to know are: biologist, bluff, lagoon, massive, rumbling, tropical. The test on this story will be on Friday, 11/21.

LANGUAGE - We will work on Main and Helping Verbs.

SPELLING - Our words this week spell and use Homophones. The core words are: piece, peace, break, brake, threw, through, by, bye, beat, beet, thrown, throne, aloud, allowed, past, passed, weight, wait, there, their. The challenge words are: principal, principle, symbol, cymbal, stationary, stationery. The test will be on Friday, 11/21.

MATH - Students will continue in Chapter 2 working on addition and subtraction equations.

SCIENCE - TEST ON CHAPTER 2 WILL BE ON THURSDAY, 11/20.
A Study Guide will be completed and brought home on Monday.
