Welcome to the 2008-2009 Mustang Team and to Ms. McKnight's Science Class. I look forward to a fascinating year with you, full of opportunities for science exploration and learning. I have high expectations of you, behaviorally and academically. You can expect to be challenged, to work hard, and to develop investigative and analytical skills. If you put in an honest effort, you will master skills that will serve you well in high school, college, and throughout your life. I'm excited to get started the year with you!

A Little About Me:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rivier College. I also hold a Natural Therapeutic Specialist Certification from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics.
This will be my third year teaching at Holly Ridge Middle School. I have taught 8th grade science, 8th grade math, and 7th grade science here. I also taught 6th grade math for a year at West Lee Middle School in Sanford. I'm licensed to teach middle school math and science.
Prior to teaching, I worked as a chemical engineer for Monsanto, and as the Human Resources Director for two high tech corporations and for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at NC State University. I also had a successful natural therapeutic practice.
I enjoy showing my students how our science curriculum applies to the "real world" and introducing them to some of the many scientific career choices available to them.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and with my whippets, Carson and Tango. I also enjoy horseback riding.
