The Razorbacks Team Cadre strongly believes that for each student to succeed it takes a triangle of partnership -- the student, the parents or guardians, and the teachers.    The Razorbacks Cadre also believes that our students are capable of achieving more when this triangle promotes a positive and ongoing process of growth for all the parties involved.  The Razorbacks Team is not just the students and their core teachers, but it is a team that includes parents and guardians in the academic and  social development of all our students.  We not only encourage your support and involvement, we need it to accomplish our common goals for our students!

Grade Reports will come home weekly, so please ask to see the report, review it, sign it, and add comments if needed.  For a prompt response please email me your questions and comments.  jmcardle@wcpss.net

To schedule a parent teacher conference either contact myself or contact the HRMS Guidance office (Mrs. Branch at pbranch@wcpss.net  phone # 919-577-1339) Conferences with all core and elective teachers are the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. I will try to be at all the team conferences, but I know I have some scheduling conflicts that are unavoidable this year.  If that should happen I will insure you have current performance information concerning your student available in my absence and I will be happy to meet with you at another day and time.

Sincerely, Mr. McArdle

Africa Research Project Directions and Rubric

The purpose of this project is to allow you, the student, to completely research one African nation.  To complete the project you are expected to compile data from a minimum of three sources,  at least one source must be from the Internet and at least one source must be from a traditional print source, such as an encyclopedia, almanac, etc.  All three sources must be documented in the bibliography section of the paper.

Additionally, you will be completing three complementary components in this project.  Each component will have an individual project grade.  There will be additional grades garnered along the way in completing this project as well.

The three components are:
1.    A two page typed research paper on the assigned nation.

2.    A four-sided pyramid that will display various facts about the assigned nation.

3.    A ten minute verbal presentation to the class on the assigned nation, which include at least one presentation aid; such as a skit, dance, music, student created video, posters, power point presentation, overheads, costume, guest speaker, etc.

The deadline for the item #1 is Feb. 25th, the deadline for item #2 is Feb. 18th, the presentations, item #3 is Feb. 27th.  No late work will be accepted, so use your time wisely.  Follow the timeline that has been provided.

Your assigned African nation is _________________________________________.
