What are we learning in April / May?
We will work hard on decoding skills at your child's level during the last quarter in our reading groups. We will also strengthen fluency and comprehension skills through activities that focus on rereading, retelling and making connections to stories that we read. Using descriptive sentences to tell a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end is the focus for the last quarter in writing. In math we will work on Unit 16: Collecting and Organizing Data and Unit 17: Moving Beyond 100 in our Math TrailBlazers program. We are also spending time every morning working on problem solving strategies. We are exploring the properties of rocks in science this quarter. We will also learn about things we can do to help keep our earth clean during Earth Day Week. Don't forget to send in those box tops!
