Arrow Book Order money due by Monday, August 20th.

Dear Families,

As you know our class field trip to Blue Jay Point is fast approaching.  We will be leaving on Monday, September 10, and will return to Carver on Wednesday, September 12th.  Students will be spending two nights in the lodge at Blue Jay Point, which is a park on Falls Lake just off Six Forks Rd. Extension (south of 98).  It is approximately 35 minutes from Carver.   All parents are welcome to come out during the evenings to help with our meals.  (Parents are invited to join their children for any of the meals.)  Parent support is vital!  Please understand that all parents must have level 4 volunteer clearances to visit us at Blue Jay Point.     Each student needs to send in a $20.00 check to cover the cost of the lodge, programs, meals, snacks and supplies.  Make checks payable to Carver Elementary.  Please fill out all forms for your child and send the money and forms. Students need to bring the following items (please label with child’s name):

· Sleeping bag and pillow (twin bed top and bottom sheets/blanket may be substituted)
· 2 towels (one full body and one wash cloth)
· Toiletry items, such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion
· Weather appropriate clothing, including a pair of long pants, socks and shoes appropriate for hiking
· sun block and bug repellent
· Flashlight (if available)
· Camera (optional)

Blue Jay Point has asked that students NOT BRING the following:
· Valuables
· Radios/cell phones
· Tape or CD players
· Computer Games

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at mneal@wcpss.net or call me at Carver, 365-2680 or 365-0915
