ACTIVITIES/ASSIGNMENTS NOVEMBER 17 - NOVEMBER 25, 2008
Mon. Nov. 17: Students will create a model of a water molecule and also work on Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-1 (due tomorrow). Chapter 2 Vocabulary quiz will be on Friday, Nov. 21. Quiz words were announced on Fri. 11/14.
HW: Finish Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-1.
Tues. Nov. 18: We will discuss and grade guided reading sheets for section 2-1. Students will complete 7 mini-labs that introduce and reinforce the unique properties of water. Written data MUST be collected and recorded at each lab station!
HW: Finish analysis questions for labs completed during class.
Weds. Nov. 19: Students will finish up the mini-labs and also answering remaining analysis questions. They will then work on Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-2 (due tomorrow).
HW: Finish Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-2, study for Ch. 2 Vocabulary Quiz.
Thurs. Nov. 20: We will discuss, grade guided reading sheets for section 2-2. We'll also discuss analysis questions for the mini-labs on properties of water. Students will complete Frayer Model sheets for each of the 8 concepts covered in the mini-labs.
HW: Study for ch. 2 Vocabulary Quiz. Finish Frayer Model sheets. Mini Lab Data Sheets w/Analysis Questions and 8 Frayer Model Sheets will be collected tomorrow!
Fri. Nov. 21: I will collect the Lab Sheets and Frayer Model Sheets. Students will take the ch. 2 vocabulary quiz. After they have finished their quiz, students should begin working on Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-3 (due Tuesday).
HW: Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-3
Mon. Nov. 24: Students will learn about the water cycle via a game. During the game, they MUST keep a travel log sheet of their journey. Once their journey is complete, students will create a 1-2 page story and a water cycle diagram illustrating details from their logs. These 2 assignments will be worked on in class, and are due on Tues. Dec. 2.
HW: Guided Reading Sheets for Sectin 2-3 due tomorrow.
Tues. Nov. 25: We will discuss and grade the Guided Reading Sheets for Section 2-3. Studnets will work on their water cycle stories and diagrams.
HW: NONE - have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
