Now everyone can search for books in the DDMS Media Center online using the WCPSS OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) called Destiny. All students are learning how to use Destiny in a workshop being taught by Mrs. Cassidy. Check it out. (See link below.)
The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success. We appreciate all of the student, teachers, and parents who supported the Book Fair. Thanks to you, the DDMS Media Center will have lots of new books this year!
The BATTLE OF THE BOOKS is a quiz-bowl style competition for students throughout Wake County. The date for this year’s competition is Saturday, February 28, 2009. An organizational meeting will be announced in October in language arts classes. The Battle of the Books team will meet during lunch periods beginning after Thanksgiving break. The team will begin meeting after school in January. A list of the books for this year's competition can be found at the Wake County Public Library Website. (See link below.)
