Sixth grade students at Daniels Middle School are having a great year! Over 200 students had all A's or A's and B's on their report cards. Interims were just sent home for the second trimester. Keep up the good work.
Classroom guidance lessons were presented to all of the sixth grade students before Thanksgiving. Topics covered were stress busters to help with the new challenges the students were experiencing in middle school and study skills. The students were surveyed to determine where they had attended elementary school. In each class of approximately 25 students, it was determined that they were coming to Daniels from 17 to 22 different elementary schools. This was surprising to many of the students who thought that they were the only student who did not have friends from elementary school in their classes or on their team.
It will not be long before registration begins for the seventh grade. Curriculum guides are being updated. Additional information will be disseminated to students and parents once this is completed. I will go into each class and discuss the registration process with the students and send packets home for completion.
Keep up the good work.
