Since we are finishing the Civil War I would like to recommend that you watch "Glory" with your child. It is an excelent movie, and it does an incredible job of making the Civil War "real." Due to time and rating (R if you watch the theatrical version) I will be unable to do this in class. Make it a Blockbuster/Netflix night. :)

Note to Parents: From now until the end of the school year the "Do Now!" final draft is to be written on Thursday night for homework. I will collect it at the beginning of class Friday, and there will be a severe late penalty for those who are unable to turn the assignment in on time( barring an excused absence, of course).
