Classwork
There are 2 components of your classwork grade
1.    Journal / Notebook
2.    Classwork Assignments
Journal/Notebook
You are required to have by no later than Tuesday  September 2nd  2008 a pocketed folder with a clasp for loose-leaf paper that will remain in the classroom.  This folder may be any color.  Upon entering the classroom you will be given a quote of the day.  You are expected to write for 5 minutes on what that quote means to you.  The writing assignment is purely to get your brains thinking.  Your response will not be counted if during the 5 minutes you choose to not participate or do things unrelated   Twice during the semester I will collect your journal for an easy 100-classwork grade.  Keep in mind if you are absent that you are still responsible for completing missed journal entries.
Classroom
Numerous times throughout the semester you will be asked to complete an in-class project and present it to the class for a classwork grade.  You also may be asked to choreograph specific 8 counts to present the next day in class.

Homework
Whenever a homework assignment is given it is due in the clear bin near the CD player by 3:00 that day.  There is a 5-point deduction for each day that the assignment is late.

Quizzes
There is the chance of an occasional pop quiz (but very rarely).  Quizzes consist of material covered in class whether written or performance oriented.

Tests (ect¡K)
All assignments counted as a test grade will be averaged in together as 20% of your final grade.  Assignments will consist of a possible research paper, dance critiques, concert attendance and more.

Extra Credit is up to the student and will be added to their lowest assignment grade at the end of the semester! I will not approach a child about extra credit; it is completely up to them to take advantage of! Some extra credit ideas are posted in the studio .
