1.  In class:Novel reading (oral).  If you get behind due to illness,etc., you may borrow a book over an evening and complete the class reading.  We hope to finish the novel either Wednesday or Thursday.
2.  Learn the Bill of Rights.  Recite the Amendments to class this week (by Friday).
3.  Discuss NC lighthouses and Native Americans (in novel).
4.  Log 3 and 4 from novel will be due Thursday or Friday (depends on when class finishes reading the novel).

Homework:
Be prepared to show me the graphic organizer and the beginning of your rough draft.  Rough draft should be finished by the end of the period on Monday.  Essay's final copy is due on Friday, Dec. 2.

TUESDAY-NOV.22
In class:Graphic organizer taking longer than expected.  Worked on organizer and beginning of rough draft today.  End of class on Monday the graphic organizer will be collected.  We are out five days due to a holiday.  Please complete the organizer and work on the rough draft. ESSAY IS DUE DECEMBER 2.

2. See directions for diagram on "Amending the Constitution."  Follow the directions at the top of the sheet. Be sure to use color.
3.  Be sure to have names and dates (term in office) for presidents 1-44.  We will review at least ten a week until we know each president.

1. HOMEWORK:BE SURE YOUR FINAL DRAFT OF THE ESSAY IS READY TO TURN IN TOMORROW.  IT IS DUE.

1.  Put essay materials together:Cover, final writing, rough draft (with peer revision), and graphic organizer. Be sure to staple and turn in before leaving.
2.  Complete cover page for Morse Code materials (design and color).  Put materials together:Cover, message from teacher, message to teacher (with English added).
Homework:Complete "Star-Spangled Banner" worksheet.  Study for test coming next week on the "Star."
