Welcome to BAND NOTES!
I am looking forward to another exciting year with the students and hope you are all ready to rehearse. Some new items for this year will include the eighth grade percussion ensemble, enhanced use of technology, and new reward systems for achievement.
Our first performance will be the Symphonic Band at the Open House on September 18. For more calendar information you may view the school website.
Please fill out and return all the forms that are sent home at the beginning of school. It is important that we take care of these matters quickly. One of the forms is a photo/video permission form. The Wake County Band Directors will be producing a video this year for use with recruiting students into band. Your child may be in one of the pictures or video, which will only be shown to students in the feeder schools. Please sign this form so that our groups will have the opportunity to participate in the production.
Mr. Grether, a teacher on the Dolphins team has redesigned our school website, and I have talked to him about setting up a band web page. Look for that in the near future. We are also trying to set up a yahoo email account which will provide me with another tool to help get information to you. More information on that will also be coming very soon
Remember that PRACTICE LOGS are due each Friday.
