**Helpful Hints for 2nd Grade**
Some helpful hints that can help you child succeed in the second grade are as follows:
1. Be sure your child is silently reading books on their reading level every night for at least 20 minutes.
2. Accelerated Math is great math practice for your child to complete at home which keeps skills sharp!
3. Study Island is also available for students to use at home whenever they have access to a computer and the internet. This program allows students to review math and reading skills to help them master North Carolina Standard Course of Study objectives. The children can log on to www.studyisland.com Children are aware of their username, however, if your child is not, the username is their “last name and their first initial @ elm” and their password is a random word. We are working so that each child will have their username and their password memorized by the end of the first marking period.
