We are currently in our Ping - Pong, Basketball, and Four Square Unit.  Next week we will be doing our post fitness testing before the end of the semester.

Below are the requirements,expectations, and rules for Physical Education.

              EPPES MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS
          REQUIREMENTS FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION

1.  Students must either bring a change of clothes from home for PE or purchase a PE uniform. Clothing brought from home for PE must meet the same guidelines for what can be worn at school with the exception of wearing a plain colored t-shirt.  P.E. uniforms cost $18.00 and can be purchased in the gym.
2.  No jewelry. (Lock up all valuables) (Lock up all valuables) (Lock up all valuables)
3.  Waistband of shorts and seat pants must be at waist level.
4.  Students must wear an athletic shoe to class. (NO BOOTS, TIMBERLANDS, OR HARD SOLE SHOES) students without proper shoes will not be allowed on the gym floor. This will count as a non-participation day.
5.  Students are excused from P.E if they have a doctor's note or a note from home. A note from home is only good one day.  However, students are still required to dress out even if sick or excused from participating. We will not accept a note written by another teacher.
6.  Students who do not have proper shoes will be given an alternate assignment.  
7.  Horseplay, fighting, eating, rough housing… will not be tolerated, especially in the locker room.  The P.E. staff reserves the right to revoke all locker room privileges, indefinitely, for those who cannot follow the rules.
8.  If you are injured in class let your teacher know immediately.

            GRADING PROCEDURES
            NOT PARTICIPATING -5
            NOT DRESSED PROPERLY -3
            TESTS AND CLASSWORK = 20%
    



              PHYSICAL EDUCATION
              RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
              IN THE GYM AND LOCKER

•Students are expected to follow all school rules
•When entering and exiting the gym, do so in an orderly manner.    
•Equipment will be used only as directed
•Gum and candy are prohibited
•Make sure the lock on your locker is secured when you leave the locker room.
•Students will have 4 minutes to dress out.  After 4 minutes, a whistle will be blown and students should be in their squads. Any student not yet in their squads will run 3 laps for being tardy.
•Students will not hang on or touch the basketball nets.
.Students are not to enter or exit through the back locker room doors.  

•HAVE A GREAT TIME

               CONSEQUENCES
1.Warning
2.Loss of privileges and points
3.After school detention
4.Office referral

Reminder:  Any items we find left in the locker room floor will be put into lost and found.  Please, lock up all your belongings in a locker and pick up after yourself.
