When rising 7th and 8th graders return to school in the fall we will not use instruments on the first day of school. We will begin using instruments on August 26, the second day of school. When you return, the new book and binder you will need will be sold by Mrs. Barclift, in the band room.
The Band Program at C.M. Eppes has had a great year. Below of are a few of the accoplishments we have experienced.
6th Grade band students have learned so much this year! They have gone from not knowing how to make a sound to putting on a fabulous end of year concert. CONGRATULATIONS!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 7TH AND 8TH GRADE BAND!!!!
Students in this group have done a variety of activities throughout the year:
1. The 8th grade band started off the year performing with the JH Rose Marching Band at a football game at Rose High School. These students had a fun high school experience, while still being in middle school.
2. In December and January we formed a basketball pep band consisting of 19 students. They added a lot of energy during the basketball games.
3. We had 5 students be selected for the NC Eastern District Honors Band in February.
4. All of the students received an overall Superior Rating at the NC Concert Band Festival on March 6. Great Job!
5. In April CM Eppes had 13 students be selected for the Pitt County Honors Band.
6. At our final concert of the year the 8th grade band students performed a song with the JH Rose Jazz Band (The Pink Panther).
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL BAND STUDENTS ON A GREAT YEAR!!
