Goals: The middle school curriculum is designed to allow students to experiment and explore new ideas. For many, it is a student’s first experience in an art classroom. The primary goal of the middle school art teacher is to create a learning environment were students can develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, tap into their creative
abilities, become familiar with a range of art media and concepts that carry over into academic areas, and allow students the opportunity to communicate with the world through an artistic expression. Most importantly it is my hope that students develop an appreciation for the visual arts and its contribution to society.
