Our school collects box tops! Please send these in to your child's homeroom teacher. The class that sends in the most will be treated at the end of the semester.

MATH
Weekly Lesson
 We will begin a new unit in Math out of the Box. We will be learning how to use a variety of strategies to determine factors and multiples of numbers.
Thursday - Lesson 4:Â Describing Strategies for Multiples
Friday - Review and complete pre-test;Â Complete Math 4 Today Test
The test on lessons 1-4 will be on Tuesday of next week
MATH 4 TODAY Test
Every Monday of each week your child will be given a new Math 4 Today sheet. It is due completed by Thursday (this is a change) of the same week. We will go over the problems in class on Thursday and students will star the type of problems that will be on the test. The test will be given on the following Friday and the notes taken during class on Thursday can be used on the test. This is a vital tool of review of all fifth grade standards and therefore it is very important for each child to have the sheet completed by Friday.
SCIENCE
This week we will begin our study on harmful pollutants.
Monday- Lesson 1:Â What is a force?
Tuesday - Lesson 2:Â How can we illustrate the forces of magnets
Wednesday - Lesson 3:Â How does gravity affect the motion of heavy and light objects?
Thursday - Lesson 4:Â How does friction affect motion?
Friday -Â Play review game
The test on force and motion will be next Tuesday

It is American Education Week. Monday is Hands-on Learning Day. Tuesday is Book Character Dress Up. Interims will go out. Beta Club Induction is at 6:30 at BSJH. Also, Student Council meets after-school. Wednesday is Instructional Game Day so we will play fun review games. On Friday, it is school spirit day! Students are encouraged to wear their favorite team shirt.
