Guided Reading of “Iditarod Dream.”  What is a nonfiction text?  How does the nonfiction text about the Iditarod compare to “Stone Fox.”  What are important details?  Can I draw conclusions and make inferences?

Anticipation Guide. Read aloud, “Welcome Comfort” by Patricia Polacco.   Students will Say Something during read aloud to monitor comprehension and make predictions.

Reader’s theatre of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.” or “The Gingerbread Boy.”
