WELCOME TO POD 3 READING CLASSES!
Welcome back from Christmas break! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday! We are almost finished with the 2nd quarter already! Our students are half way to 7th grade!!!
This week we will be reviewing several standards that we have studied over the first two quarters. Students are highly encouraged to study their notes and know this material as it is our last test for this quarter. Although this seems like a lot, we have been working on these standards the first two quarters so this is really just reviewing material already covered.
Test will cover:
1. Genres - specific types of fiction and nonfiction and the characteristics
2. Narrative Points of View (1st person narrative, 3rd person omniscient, and 3rd person limited omniscient)
3. Connotations and Denotations
4. Euphemisms and idioms
5. Greek roots and affixes (use flashcards link at the top of this page for practice!)
If you scroll down you will see an overview of the week and the homework assignments for the entire week. For more details about what we'll be doing in class, see my lesson plans under attachments at the bottom of the page.
