Upcoming Events:

  • Congrats to this weeks MVP -  Houston McDaniel(Schubeck) and Jalen Fowler (Strickland)
  • 100 BC Goal for the week:  Good 119 Better 220
  • Field Trip - Thursday, November 5th to Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta - Buses leave at 6:30 AM SHARP.  Please pick your child up at 5:00 PM at BSIS.

Upcoming Tests:

Wednesday 11/4 - Reading - Context Clues

Friday 11/6 - English - DLR/DPE 3

Upcoming units/tests:

  • English - We will begin working on varying the types of sentences we use when writing.  (simple, compound, complex)  DLR/DPE Test 3 on Friday, November 6th.  Please study a little each night!

  • Reading - We will continue studying context clues this week in guided reading groups.  Context Clues test on Wednesday, November 4th. 

  • Social Studies - We will continue studying Inventors and Immigration during this time period.  Students will receive a study guide on Monday to study.  Please study a little each night.  Students will receive an Inventors Hall of Fame project on Monday 11/2.  Rubric is attached below.  Project is due Thursday, 11/12. 

  • 100BC - 100BC reading is underway!  We will read 2 steps in class (30 min) each day and students are encouraged to read 2 steps (30 min) each night at home.  Logs will be checked at the middle of the 2nd 9 weeks for a TEST grade.  They need to be reading at least 14 lines each week in order to receive an "A" on the 100 BC reading test at the end of the 9 weeks.  They need to be reading an average of 22 steps per week in order to receive the 100 BC 9 weeks party.

Please find my lesson plans for the week attached below.  These are subject to change based on teacher/student absence and classroom level of understanding.
