Welcome to Mrs. Amick's Science Class!

With the effort of the students, parents, and myself,
this can be a fun and exciting year in Science.

Help me encourage students to remember to bring the following materials EVERY DAY:
1. Positive Attitude
2. Planner
3. Science Binder
4. Writing Utensils (including colored pencils)

-------------------------------------------------------

*Extra Credit* options are described in the "Science"  parent letter sent home on the first day of school, and are on my classroom bulletin board.

1.SCIENCE IN THE NEWS (2 per 6wks)
Find and read any article that pertains to science (newspaper, magazine, online, etc). Write a 1 paragraph summary (5-6 sentences)about the article on a piece of notebook paper. Attach the article to the summary, and turn it in.

2. WHO AM I? (2 per 6wks)
Each 6 wks I post information and photo of an unknown scientist. Students can research to find the identity of the scientist based on the given information. Students must title their paper "Who Am I? #_", and give the scientist's name. Their name must be spelled correctly to receive the extra credit. The first Who Am I? is posted on the bulletin board for the first half of the 6wks. Students can turn their answers in up until interim reports go out. The second Who Am I? is posted the day interim reports go out. Students can turn in those answers up until report card grades are due for that 6wks. NO LATE EXTRA CREDIT WILL BE ACCEPTED!
