Mrs. Turpin and Mrs. Greer's Kindergarten
2008 - 2009
We are so happy to have 18 very special Roebuck Eagles in our class this year. We currently have 7 boys and 11 girls. They have had a great start to their first year of school.
We are currently learning:
-to write our first names
-In Language Arts lessons we are beginning to recognize the lower case alphabet letters and some words (I, A, the).
-In Math we are learning graphing skills. We are comparing, sorting, and grouping objects by shape, color and size. We are learning to recognize the numbers 0 - 10.
-In Science, we are beginning our study of trees. We will be going on walks to observe the trees on our campus. We will work with materials to look more closely at the shapes of trees and their parts. We will compare the similarities and differences of trees and leaves that we observe.
-Please continue to read at least two stories each week to your child and write these titles in the "Read To Me" booklet. We check the booklets on Friday.

The Kindergarten students will begin MAP Testing on the computer. Mrs. Turpin's class Test Schedule:
Monday, October 20th: 8:30-9:15
Tuesday, October 21st: 8:30-9:15
Wednesday, October 22nd: 9:15-10:00
Thursday, October 23rd: 9:15-10:00
Our class will be testing in the Library.
Please have your student report to school ON TIME.
School begins at 7:40. The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
