Your exam is tomorrow! Make sure you study!
There are three parts to the exam:
1) Study all 75 stems. There is a list on this page under last Friday's notes.
2) Pronouns-
*There will be six questions about Intensive and
Reflexive pronouns. Remember, they end in self or
selves (myself, yourself, himself, herself,
themselves, itself.) Reflexive pronouns are needed
in the sentence. Intensive pronouns just emphasize
a noun or another pronoun. They are not necessary
to a sentence.
Example:The man will drive the car himself. (ref.)
I myself love to drive. (int.)
*There will be five questions about interrogative
pronouns- Who, whom, and whose.
*Use Who when it is the subject of the
sentence or if it is in place of the
predicate noun.
Who is the dancer?
The dancer is who?
*Use whom when it is the object of the
preposition or if it is receiving the
action of the sentence as a direct
object or indirect object.
To whom did you write the letter?
He gave whom the letter?
*Demonstrative pronouns-these are the pronouns
this that these and those
Make sure you know when to use them. This one
is pretty easy isn't it!
3) Make sure you know all about the oral tradition stories "The Legend of the Hummingbird," "The Frog Who Wanted to be a Singer," and "The Living Kwan Yin." They are in your book and they are so short you could read them all again in about thirty minutes!
Good luck! Use your notes to help you study!

I will be taking all the children to the library next week so that they may check out more books. At that time, they may pick out up to three books. We will go to the library every other week after that.
If you find yourself in need of another library book, you are welcome to come to school a few minutes early and visit the library then. You may also choose a book from my shelf. I have many good books and would love for you to borrow them and enjoy them. I will try not to send your child to the library during class unless I am sure they will be able to catch up on anything they have missed. We are so busy with lessons, I certainly do not want them to miss something they need to be hearing in class! We sure are very busy Bucks!!!!

It has been such a joy to get to meet all of my new sixth grade students! I love them each and ever one already!
Our homework tonight is to make the stems flashcards. These will be in a notebook. I had the students prepare their notebooks in class today so that they could just work on writing the STEM on one side of a "flash card" and the definition of the stem on the other. There are twenty-five stems. On the list of stems, you will find examples of words in which the stem is found. You will also find the language the stem comes from. The example and language do not have to be written on the flash card. Only write the stem on one side and the definition on the other.
This flash card book will be used for all our stems flash cards and for all our vocabulary flash cards.
Have a great evening!
