3. Ancestor Worship
4. The Great Wall

QUESTIONS TO ANSWER AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE:
1. We learned in our study of Confucian ideals that children should show FILIAL PIETY. Filial piety means that one shows devotion, love, and respect for one’s parents and ancestors. Is Mulan a FILIAL daughter?
Give examples to support your answer.
2. THINK!!! Can you make some estimation of the time period of Mulan? Do you think the story may have taken place during the Shang, Zhou, Qin, or Han Dynasty? Do you think it took place during some OTHER time period? Use your knowledge of Ancient China to this point to discuss this issue. Why would it be a certain period? Why would it NOT be a particular dynasty?
Select examples from the movie to support your theory.
