Reading Log Entry -
Students are required to read for no less than 20 minutes everyday, including weekends. They must also record this in their Reading Log and have a parent initial it. There is a Book Report form after each Reading Log. The 2 Book Reports must be completed by the end of each month.

Please check your child's agenda daily for all other assignments and reminders.

Vocabulary Workshop - We study each Unit for two weeks. The homework is as follows -

WEEK 1 -
Monday - Write a sentence for each word, 1-5.
Tuesday - Write a sentence for each word, 6-10.
Wednesday - Circle the smaller words within each word. Show your parents the motions for words
1-10. Study these words for the Spelling Test on Fri.
Thursday - Write each word five times. Test tomorrow.
Friday - Spelling Test on words 1-10.

WEEK 2 - During the week, your child will practice using the words in a variety of ways. They will be assigned a different section each night for homework. The answers must be written on the Answer Sheet provided on Monday. It will be collected on Friday for a grade.

Monday - Do "Match the Meaning". Write the answers on the worksheet.
Tuesday - Do "Synonyms" and "Antonyms".
Wednesday - Do "Completing the Sentence".
Thursday - Do "Word Associations". Study for test tomorrow.
Friday - Unit Vocabulary Test. Worksheet collected.


Reading Book Assignments - Each week we focus on the next story. Prior to the reading selection, is the "Skill" Lesson. The homework is as follows -

Monday - Read the "Skill" Lesson out loud to a parent. Discuss the skill.

Tuesday - Read the story out loud with a parent. Discuss the vocabulary and comprehension questions together.

Wednesday - Answer the Comprehension Questions at the end of the story. Write your answers in complete sentences.

Thursday - Study for the story test. Review the skill, vocabulary, and comprehension questions. Test is on Friday.

Friday - Reading Test.


Every Monday -
Ms. Gracey's students need to return Library Books.

Every Tuesday -
Ms. Gracey's students must wear tennis shoes for P.E.
