~Welcome to my page.
22 January 2008
Please check your notebooks for the class calendar of assignments, tests, and projects. We have lots of deadlines, and the calendar is a great way to keep on top of things.
Honors Brit Lit.
During the semester, my Honors Brit Lit will read Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales, Pride and Prejudice, and 1984. You may want to stock up now and get a head start. Parents might even like to reread the classics!
The current vocabulary unit is #2 with a quiz on Friday.
Packets for The Canterbury Tales go out Jan. 23 and will be due Feb. 5. Students need to read the General Prologue and two of the tales in the textbook, then find a copy of "The Clerk's Tale" in a copy of CT, either online, from a public library, or Barnes and Noble. I've called them and they're ordering more- their trade version is $6.95. Students are also welcome to read my copy in class.
Honors American Lit.
We're finishing up reading The Crucible and will test on Thursday. We just started The Scarlet Letter and will begin quizzes for this next week. We are also researching topics for the research paper (I suggest using Crucible or SL!) in the library.
We will not have vocabulary this week because of the library research but will resume with unit 2 next week.
Please check here monthly for upcoming events AND the class calendars for individual classes. Make-up sessions for quizzes or tests are held on Wednesay and Friday mornings from 7:45 until 8:15.
Happy studying!
Best,
Mrs. Jordan
