Camp Wahsega Letters Need Parent Signature! Please return by tomorrow, Friday at the latest!
We know that good parent communication is vital to our students success. Please feel free you email us at any time. We can not respond directly to e-mail sent through this site, so please use our personal email addresses from your home website.
You can e-mail any teacher you have by going to the county website at www.cowetaschools.org, look to list on lower RH of webpage for employee e-mail addresses. It will give you an alphabet, click on the letter of the last name of the teacher and find their e-mail there.
Check here daily for your homework assignments. If you are with an off team teacher, please ask them for their website.
Mrs Ridge - Social Studies:
Study a map of the US noting the location of states and major cities. Geo Bee this week.
pamela.ridge@cowetaschools.org.
Question of the day: What is a basin?
Reading log (for study time) is due Thursday!
Ms. Dewey - Language: No homework.
Mrs. Lanave - Science:
I have encouraged students to watch Wild! on Georgia Public Broadcasting (Channel 8 on Charter and NuLink) on Thursday nights at 8:00. This is a fantastic display of organisms in their natural habitats and will help prepare the students for our future studies of biomes.
By the way, there is a shuttle launch (STS-126) on Friday at 7:55pm. You can watch it online at this link: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html Since this will be a night launch, it is possible for you to see the shuttle launch with your own eyes from right here in Newnan. If you have a clear view of the horizon and there are few clouds in the sky, you can look south at the time of launch and see the shuttle in flight. It will look like a star moving through the sky in an inverted j-shaped path. I’ve seen it myself this way. For those of you with NuLink HD cable service, you can see the launch live on HD Net (Channel 820).
We are currently learning about the six kingdoms and comparing/contrasting organisms within each of the kingdoms.
Heads up: Students will be required to wear safety goggles to participate in labs. Students may choose to purchase their own goggles which range in price from $5-$10 and can be stored in the classroom or in lockers. Note: goggles must fit over eyeglasses. More info to come on specific guidelines.
