The purpose of homework is:
To help develop responsibility
To reinforce skills taught in class
To keep parents aware of the skills taught
To strengthen academic growth
Homework will not be graded!
Language:
This sheet will provide your child with focus practice of skills that will help lead to mastery and retention of the skills. Skills covered will be sentence editing, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary, word study skills, and reference skills.
Reading:
This sheet will provide your child with reading practice. It will have a story for you and your child to read together. Students will have a short activity to complete after reading and discussing the story with you.
**Parents: Please note that when you check your child's grades on pinnacle, language arts and spelling are together.
Math: Your child will receive one or two sheets of practice sheets each night. These sheets help to build skills for mastery as well. Daily practice at home helps students to retain the information being taught in class. Sheets are easy and can be completed in 5-7 minutes most often.
Spelling and Reading Vocabulary: This list of words will be sent home on Friday of each week. Please take time to review the words daily at home. There will be a practice test on Thursday. If students make 100 on that day they will not have to take the test on Friday. The spelling test will be on Friday.

Behavior Logs: Please check your child's behavior log each day. Initial the box and return it daily to class.
Graded Work: These papers will be sent home on Friday of each week.
