Hello,
I hope you had a great weekend.
***There is no school Friday, so tests will be given Thursday. The following week students will begin taking the ITBS or the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

In GRAMMAR, students will learn about nouns. Nouns name people, places, or things. We will test on Thursday.
Students will continue their DOL from this week. They will correct two sentences with me on the overhead each day. On Thursday they will be tested on six of these same sentences.
SPELLING Words this week:
true, too, new, room, blew, tool, clue, boot, few, school, Vocabulary: announced, empty, poured, squeezed, wrong, Bonus: melted. Students will be given a pretest Wednesday and if they receive a 100 will have free time Thursday while others retest.
MATH: Chapter Five: Subtraction Strategies
At the onset of each chapter I will send home a family sheet summarizing what your child will be learning. This is not homework, but an informational sheet for you. If you want to do the problems with your child that is fine. Be aware; it is material I have not shown them.
We will have a mid chapter test on Tuesday and a second test Thursday.

**Graded papers are sent home on Tuesdays. Please look over any mistakes your child may have made and discuss them with him/her. This small amount of time may clarify misunderstandings for your child.
If you have any questions please email me at the school: jhorton1@camden.k12.ga.us or call the school 576-4800. I am usually here until 4:00pm.
I enjoy being your child's teacher.
