Hello everyone,
I am really happy to have new students in our classes! Our new schedule is:
Mondays--1st graders
Tuesdays--4th graders
Wednesdays--2nd/3rd--DLR, KES, WES
Thursdays--2nd/3rd--MLGES, MHES
We are exploring the theme of DISCOVERY for the next several weeks. We will be studying famous as well as not-so-famous discoveries and examine their impact on our world. We have been studying the California Gold Rush and biomimicry. We will do hands-on activities related to the topics and will continue to focus on our MAGIC FIVE focus areas for Challenge students:
1. Advanced Communication
2. Critical Thinking
3. Research
4. Creativity
5. Self-concept
As usual, I take the students for a quick breakfast between 8:00 and 8:15. Lunch is at 10:50 and dismissal to the shuttle buses is at 2:10.
As many of you know, I will be going on maternity leave at the end of March, but please be assured that we will secure the most highly qualified, wonderful sub we can find. :)
ALSO: There is NO CHALLENGE CLASS during the week of the CRCT (April 22nd-28th) and there is NO CHALLENGE during the very last week of school (May 18th-22nd).
