I am having an AR party for my homeroom on May 13th. Library books are due on the 12th, so we are going by points earned up until the end of school on the 12th.
Here are the party pointers:
If you have at least 200 points for the year, you will have an ice cream treat, drink, and candy!
If you have at least 150 points, you will have a drink and ice cream treat!
If you have at least 100 points, you will have an ice cream treat!
If you have at least 75 points, you earn candy!
If you have under 75 points, you earn a Blow Pop.
I am very proud of the progress my class has made! Good readers!
If your child receives a note about a dress code violation, please sign and return it. On the 2nd violation, you will be called to bring them the appropriate clothing. Please email Mrs. Stoudenmire with any specific questions.

Rocket Launch was awesome! Thanks for coming!

Some dates to remember:
Mrs. Smallwood's AR Party- May 13th
3rd and 4th grade Talent Show- May 19th
Pool Party- May 20th
Honors Day- May 21st(Last day of school!)

***I have lowered the AR goals for this 9-weeks. It will be a shorter semester and we are all extra busy!
Remind your child to read 15 minutes every night. AR goals are much easier to reach if children "pace" themselves. Encourage children to have 1/2 of their goal by the time progress reports come out!

If your child is absent, please send in an excuse the day they return. Makeup work can be picked up after school on the cart just inside the lower grades wing, or sent with a sibling. Thanks!
Please continue to bring in Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels- we'll get money to use for our room! THANKS!
We also collect cans (drink) for recycling. The winning class gets ice cream! Send in your cans, please!
Social Studies: I will be giving one test for the Southwest region. Look for study guide coming home. Students will be responsible for learning the (Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, and New Mexico)states, capitals, abbreviations and other information from the study guide. This test will be May 13th.

Math: We will move on to measurement and fractions next. I will give a teacher made test like before. I will also send home a study guide to help. Math Test May 9th!
***Something to check out! www.mmhmath.com Scroll down to the picture of our math book. Go to the unit we're doing (chapter 12 is unit 6) and your child can do some games and activities!
Spirit Days- Fridays will be spirit days. Students should wear DW t-shirts and uniform bottoms.
