Dear parents,
I hope you saw the AR letter that came home in your child's folder on Thurs. I think it would be wonderful if you all would sign up to be notified when your child takes an AR test. It would give you a chance to celebrate successes and help your child figure out what he needs to do differently next time if he's not satisfied with his score. What a great learning opportunity!
This is just a reminder if you have not sent in your activity fee of $15. We'll be using it for some great learning activities, including several field trips and a wonderful social studies newspaper. Thanks!

Dear parents,
I know some of you asked about our schedule at registration. I think it is set now. We will have lunch from 12:35 – 1:05 each day. You are welcome to join us. If you want to purchase a lunch, please ask your child to add you to our lunch count in the morning. As mentioned earlier, we will have PE on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Your child needs to dress for exercise, including athletic shoes and socks on those days.
In case you missed it, please let me know if you are available to volunteer time in our classroom or the computer lab, or are available to cut or work on projects at home. There will also be times when we will need donations of materials. Please let me know if you would like to contribute.
Our daily homework and notes will be posted at www.schoolnotes.com. You will be asked to enter Midland’s zip code (31820). Once you get to my site, you can bookmark it or enter a request to be notified when I update it. You can also contact me via e-mail through the web site. There are some occasions when there are changes made in the assignments. Please encourage your child to establish a good habit of copying his assignment in his planner each day. (Use the web site as a back up only.) You will also find a calendar in your child’s binder with test dates. Please keep it in the binder so we can update it regularly.
Thanks for your support! We’re off to a great start! Hope you will be able to join us at orientation on Tuesday evening, August 19, at 6:30 in the cafeteria.
